For six months in 2018 I worked as lead artist in residence on Ideas:People:Places Llandudno.
My residency aimed to take a deeper look at the forces that shape the town, challenging established approaches to place-making.
The residency began with an investigation into the social ecology and economy of the town, drawing on the feminist economic practices of JK Gibson-Graham and their metaphor of “the economy as an iceberg”.
By upturning the iceberg we can begin to chart the unseen, unaccounted for efforts that keep our communities afloat, but also where we need to connect more and begin to establish new structures or modes of living together.
The work dovetailed into the setting up of a Network for Creative Activism in Llandudno.
